What years did you go to Boot Camp?

I am one of those sad people that didn’t attend Boot Camp as a student, just as a staff member! ;) I wish I had gone as a student, but the years I worked Camp were 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Do you remember what you studied the years you were here? What were they?

During the years I was at boot camp, I studied Covenant, Sermon on the Mount and 1 Corinthians.

Which one was your favorite? Why?

Hmmm…that’s a tough one! Each of them were so good in different ways. But if I HAD to pick one, I guess it would be covenant. That study really had an impact on me when I studied it as a teenager, so it’s very close to my heart.

Do you still keep in touch with people from camp? What are those friendships like now?

Oh yes!! Even if we don’t talk one-on-one, I am Facebook friends with TONS of people from camp and it’s great to see what’s going on in their lives through that. But I have probably a dozen or so people that I talk to on a regular basis, who are some of my dearest friends! The relationships from camp last.

What are some of the most memorable moments from boot camp for you?

Having one of the girls at my table realize she had never truly been saved, and she asked the Lord to forgive her and save her right there at Camp! Also, the worship and main sessions are always such an encouragement after a long day of studying. I look forward to them at the end of each day. And of course…meal times are one of my favorites. You get to eat AND get to talk and laugh with those at your table!

Do you believe that others should attend boot camp? Why or why not?

OH YES!! Boot Camp is such a unique environment. It’s like you are tucked away from the world for a week, surrounded by others who are serious about studying God’s Word and you get to let your walls down, and just seek God. It’s an amazing experience.

What advice would you give to those that are thinking about coming to boot camp?

Um, sign up before it’s too late! ;) I would also say, if you are shy meeting new people, and feel overwhelmed by that, don’t let that stop you. I am the same way and I am SO glad I got out of my comfort zone and let people in. As I said earlier, I have so many precious friendships because of Camp.
