“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” ~1 John 4:9-12 (ESV)
Today, the students looked at what it means to love and why we love one another.
In Chapter 1, we saw that were to live in fellowship and what keeps us from that fellowship. In Chapter 2, we saw our Advocate and what it means to abide in Hims. In Chapter 3, we saw the difference between the righteous and the unrighteous.
In Chapter 4, we saw that those who abide in God are perfected in love.
As you can see, now that we have been in fellowship in the Word, we are definitely beginning to love one another.
But in all seriousness, it is amazing how when fellow believers abide in God’s Word together, they become close with each other. They begin to love one another through God’s Spirit.
Continue to pray that students will grow in fellowship with God and His Son Jesus and with others by abiding in Him.
