EQUIP JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Purpose: To serve and disciple students during Transform Student Ministries EQUIP Boot Camps.

Commitment:

–2 to 3 hours per week of preparation PRIOR to camp (including study preparation, online discussions, and prayer).

–Post in discussion forum at least once every two weeks leading up to camp.

–Must be present for all sessions during staff orientation and camp.

Responsibilities:

Before Arrival

–Actively communicate with Transform Staff prior to and during camp.

–Send all paperwork to Transform Staff by given deadlines.

–Complete the camp study & actively participate in online discussions with other camp staff.

During EQUIP

–Attend Staff Orientation for the camp(s) you are working:

     Camp 1 – June 6-7

     Camp 2 – June 18-19

     Camp 3 – June 30-July 1

–Attend Debrief Meeting at the end of the camp(s) you are working:

     Camp 1 – June 15 @ 1:00 PM

     Camp 2 – June 27 @ 1:00 PM

     Camp 3 – July 9 @ 1:00 PM

If working all camps, you will have additional responsibilities to help prepare for the following camp. The time between camps is not to be considered as “free time” but time set aside to rest and regroup.

Dining Room Detail

–Assist Kitchen staff with serving meals.

–Participate in dining room set up and clean up.

–Direct campers to follow pre-determined traffic flow.

–Make sure campers transition in a timely manner according to camp schedule.

Sports Detail

–Set-up, clean-up, and officiate for all sporting events throughout camp.

–Assist with set up & execution of camp activity/talent show.

Assistant Table Leader

You will have a staff person at your table and you will assist in:

–Guiding students through assignments given by the classroom teacher.

–Helping students maintain a consistent pace in completing their work.

–Answering any questions students may have about the study or Inductive Bible Study Method.

–Giving classroom teacher feedback on how your students are doing with the study.

–Overseeing and offering assistance during EQUIP Training sessions (more info will be given during staff orientation).

Assistant Room Counselor

You will have a staff person in your room and you will assist in:

–Facilitating discussion/devotion in the afternoon and evening about what students learned during the day (Transform Staff will provide discussion guidelines for these times).

–Alerting Transform Staff of any counseling situations you find yourself in with any of the students in your room.

–Leading students in prayer time in the evening before lights out. Maintaining control in rooms to ensure that no damage to facility happens while students are in their room.

Assistant Team Leader

You will be on a team with 2 staff persons and you will assist in:

–Setting preliminary plans for each of your team time meetings at staff orientation.

–Helping execute the plans set for each team time.

–Participating with and leading your team with a joyful attitude during team time.

–Praying for campers on your team on a regular basis.

Other Responsibilities

–Helping Transform Staff enforce camp rules and policies.

–Aiding in general running of camp and various activities as assigned by Transform Staff.

–Other duties as assigned.

After EQUIP

–Encourage students to continue engaging in God’s Word to grow in relationship with Him over the next year.

Training:

–In order for you to prepare for camp, all necessary information will be sent by Transform Staff through a project management tool PRIOR to Staff Orientation.

–All other staff training will occur during staff orientation.

Responsible to:  Transform Student Ministries Staff

Qualifications:

–At least 19 years old – Must have graduated from high school no later than spring of 2018.

–Active in a local Church.

–Involved in personal or corporate bible study (preferably inductive Bible study).

–Interested in serving & leading students (preferably already demonstrating this interest through involvement in some type of student ministry).

–Making disciples intentionally.

–Willing & able to be an example in your Christian walk.

–Displays an attitude of servant leadership.

–Willingness to submit to those in positions of authority at EQUIP Boot Camp.

Physical Demands & Requirements:

–Must be able to meet all expectations listed above before, during, and after camp.

–Monitor all EQUIP Boot Camp activities and sports times, consisting of multiple contact and non-contact team sports in the afternoons and occasional participation.

–Limited sleep hours during EQUIP Boot Camp schedule (11:30pm – 6:30am). Room leaders may also need to care for students in the middle of the night.

Responsibilities:

BEFORE ARRIVAL

–Actively communicate with Transform Staff prior to and during camp.

–Send all paperwork to Transform Staff by given deadlines.

–Complete the camp study & actively participate in online discussions with other camp staff.

DURING EQUIP

–Attend Staff Orientation for the camp(s) you are working:

     Camp 1 – June 6-7

     Camp 2 – June 18-19

     Camp 3 – June 30-July 2

During classroom time you will be directly responsible to 5 to 7 students at a table to:

–Guide students through assignments given by the classroom teacher.

–Help students maintain a consistent pace in completing their work.

–Answer any questions students may have about the study or Inductive Bible Study Method.

–Give classroom teacher feedback on how your students are doing with the study.

–Oversee and offer assistance during EQUIP Training sessions (more info will be given during staff orientation).

Room Counselor

Depending on the housing option you are assigned to, you will be responsible for 4 to 6 students in your room at each camp to:

–Facilitate discussion/devotion in the afternoon and evening about what students learned during the day (Transform Staff will provide discussion guidelines for these times).

–Alert Transform Staff of any counseling situations you find yourself in with any of the students in your room.

–Lead students in prayer time in the evening before lights out. (Transform Staff will provide a prayer guide that will direct this time).

–Help students manage their time to make sure lights out happens at time given on schedule, and that students make it down to breakfast on time.

–Maintain control in rooms to ensure that no damage to facility happens while students are in their room.

–Oversee students during room clean up time to ensure room is clean each morning before heading down to breakfast.

–Help students clean the room thoroughly at end of camp. (A cleaning checklist will be provided).

–Fill out post-camp evaluation forms prior to departure on the last day of camp.

Team Leader

You will be responsible to work with your other team leader to:

–Set preliminary plans for each of your team time meetings at staff orientation.

–Participate with and lead your team with a joyful attitude during team time and sports time.

–Pray for campers on your team on a regular basis throughout camp.
