It is our desire and goal to see people established in God’s Word by spending intentional time in it, with Him. In order to make this a reality for more of you, the first Friday of each month we will post a simple Bible study that you can use for your personal study and to share with others.
WHAT IS A Transform Discipleship Resource?
This summer at EQUIP-Boot Camp, we wanted to give students a study tool that is simple, quick, and a great way to introduce someone to inductive study. These studies only take a few minutes and can be great nourishment for you, and a way to introduce others to inductive study as a way to learn more about God through His Word.
The resources we’re focussing on this year are topical, and focus on some of the basic steps of inductive Bible study (marking a couple words, and asking questions that help guide reflection on the Scriptures). We’re currently using the Psalms focusing on various attributes of God. No matter what season of life you’re in, we hope that this month’s Transform Discipleship Resource will bring you comfort as you look to the Great Shepherd and remember that He is the One watching over and guiding you. Click here to download “God our Shepherd” from Transform’s group page resources on the POC website. If you don’t already have an account, this document will show you how to do that.
WHAT WAYS CAN YOU USE A TRANSFORM DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCE?
There are many ways you can use these studies, and that’s what makes them so great! They can serve as an aid to personal quiet times or as a small group study with friends at school, co-workers during lunch, or with your family in the evening. They also are great for passing out to random people you meet at a coffeehouse or to that curious individual who always wonders why you color in your Bible.
One way I’ve shared these is with my roommate. I had a few lightning studies in my bag that I thought she might like to do. So I showed them to her, and she mentioned that she’s been needing something to do for daily devotion time and felt like these would be great! The past few nights I’ve come home and she has worked through a new one marking up the scripture and writing out her thoughts! It’s been exciting to see her excitement to dig into the Psalms and to learn more about God!
